Azo Yellow Handmade Watercolour

One half pan of handmade watercolour, Azo Yellow. 

This precious Azo pigment is a real treat for me. I've been looking forward to working with it for such a long time. Azo Yellow has some amazing properties. In lighter applications it can pass for a Lemon Yellow, but its full tone has wonderful amber and gold leanings. Since it is a gorgeously transparent pigment, it is beloved by floral watercolourists and hyper-realism artists alike. In mixes, it makes stunning greens and oranges that practically glow. I'm absolutely serious- I love this colour. 

Check the last photo for comparison swatches with a few of my other yellows (Lemon, Sugar Maple and Yellow Ochre.) Oh, and it has excellent lightfast properties. Did I mention how much I like this one?
